Domaine de Villaine - Rully 1. Cru "Montpalais" 2024

The presence of around 12% Chardonnay Muscaté planted in the middle of its vignes, gives the Rully 1er Cru Monpalais a strong personality and a slightly more exotic expression of its terroir. On the nose, we find notes of exotic fruits such as lychee and kiwi, mingling with pear notes and almost spicy accents. The palate, on the other hand, with its roundness and the maturity of the fruit, dresses an acidic base derived from the limestone balance of its terroir. This gives the wine its tenderness and at the same time its elegance. This acidic freshness, present on the finish, creates a mouth-watering sensation and gives the wine a very appetising character. This wine is both fruity and mineral and should be drunk in the youth of the fruit. Open the bottle a short time before drinking.

Alors même que notre jeune vigne de Rully 1er Cru Montpalais se trouve pratiquement au cœur du coteau des Premiers Crus et qu’il bénéficie d’un climat plutôt chaud, on sent au nez une fraîcheur aromatique surprenante. Ce Montpalais 2022 est moins exubérant que d’habitude, plus fin avec des notes florales très agréables à humer, le tout enrobé par une subtile présence boisée très aérienne et florale. 

La bouche reste fraîche, presque caressante et appétissante. Les saveurs sont riches, séduisantes et le boisé des fûts et demi-muids ne se fait pas trop sentir. La finale reste quant à elle profonde, sans signe de chaleur ni de fatigue du vin.

Un vin heureux à boire aujourd’hui sur la jeunesse du fruit.
